What we're here to do.It
is September of 1814 and Napoleon just got defeated at Waterloo and sent into
to exile again. Napoleon has left so many countries divided and has created
divide between all of the European countries that cannot be self-dissolved. Our
continent cannot take anymore war right now. We think the best thing to prevent
war is to divide the European countries as we see fit and balance the power
between all the major countries. We have left most of our major decisions up to
our four major power countries; Austria, Russia, Prussia and Great Britain. We
have elected the Austrian minister Klemens von Metternich as our president of
congress. We have decided to take away all of Frances land that was conquered
by Napoleon. We have also decided to give everybody equal treatment because we
wouldn’t want anybody being vengeful, like France would do. Our motto is status quo ante bellum which means the situation
as it was before war so we have restored all monarchies. With all this set back
in proper place we shouldn’t have to worry about any threats to peace coming
about now. It is said that even after we get out of this year long meeting
there will be an alliance formed called the Concert of Europe in which all the
countries in it will help each other suppress uprisings and revolutions in their
countries because the last thing we need is another Napoleon. So far I think
the congress is doing good and I can see it bringing much positivity and peace
in the future.
